noise abatement Airport sponsor published verified 2026-08-28 (42 d ago)
Published by the airport sponsor; voluntary unless ATC assigns it. If ATC assigns this route to you in Class B, C or D airspace, that assignment is an ATC instruction and compliance is required (14 CFR 91.123) — and “unable” remains available to the pilot in command.
Avoid the mapped noise-sensitive areas, keep the touch-and-go pattern inside the Arapahoe Road and Lincoln Avenue boundaries, and avoid training 2200-0700.
The route
- If possible, avoid the noise sensitive areas shown in green on the Noise Sensitive Areas Map
- Avoid flight training and ILS training operations between 2200 and 0700
- Make power setting changes slowly; observe the noise abatement signs located at runway ends
- If traffic pattern volume becomes saturated causing extended pattern length beyond the suggested Arapahoe Road and Lincoln Avenue boundaries, consider returning at a less busy time to remain within the depicted traffic pattern
- Jet aircraft: follow NBAA noise abatement guidelines, use thrust reduction techniques and minimise reverse thrust
- Helicopters: contact the tower for preferred noise abatement routes (the routes themselves are not published)
When it applies
- Runway 10 or 28 or 17L or 17R or 35L or 35R — all operations Airport-wide voluntary guidelines. The touch-and-go map depicts a pattern west of the field labelled with runway ends 17R and 35L, but no sentence in the brochure states which runways the touch-and-go guideline applies to

General Noise Abatement Guidelines Traffic pattern altitude 6,885 ft. MSL (1,000 ft. AGL). If possible, avoid noise sensitive areas as shown in green on the Noise Sensitive Areas Map. Avoid flight training and ILS training operations between 10:00pm and 7:00am. Make power setting changes slowly. Observe noise abatement signs located at runway ends. Terrain rises significantly to the south, southwest, and west of Centennial Airport. Adjust altitude accordingly. VOLUNTARY TOUCH-AND-GO GUIDELINES — If traffic pattern volume becomes saturated causing extended pattern length beyond the suggested Arapahoe Road and Lincoln Avenue boundaries, consider returning at a less busy time to remain within the depicted traffic pattern. Jet Aircraft — Follow NBAA noise abatement guidelines. Use thrust reduction techniques and minimize use of reverse thrust. Helicopters — Helicopter operators please contact tower for preferred noise abatement routes. IN ALL CASES SAFETY AND ATC INSTRUCTIONS TAKE PRECEDENCE.
