Published by the airport sponsor; voluntary unless ATC assigns it. If ATC assigns this route to you in Class B, C or D airspace, that assignment is an ATC instruction and compliance is required (14 CFR 91.123) — and “unable” remains available to the pilot in command.
No more than 20° of bank to follow the noise track, descending from 2,500 ft AGL or higher, gear at the FAF or 4 miles, minimum reverse thrust.
The route
- Establish the inbound flight path to require no more than a 20-degree bank angle to follow the noise abatement track
- Initial inbound altitude for noise abatement should be a descending path from 2,500 ft AGL or higher
- At the final approach fix, or not more than 4 miles from the runway threshold, extend landing gear; final landing flap configuration should be delayed at the pilot's discretion to enhance noise abatement
- Use of the 3-degree PAPI or higher if possible is recommended
- During landing, use minimum reverse thrust consistent with safety for runway conditions and available length
When it applies
- Runway configuration unconfirmed The airport does not tie the approach procedure to a runway

IFR & VFR Approach Procedures Establish the inbound flight path to require no more than a 20-degree bank angle to follow the noise abatement track. Observe all airspeed limitations and ATC instructions. Initial inbound altitude for noise abatement should be a descending path from 2,500 ft. AGL or higher. At the Final Approach Fix or not more than 4 miles from runway threshold, extend landing gear. Final landing flap configuration should be delayed at pilot's discretion to enhance noise abatement. Use of the 3-degree PAPI or higher if possible is recommended. During landing, use minimum reverse thrust consistent with safety for runway conditions and available length. [Noise Abatement Procedures page:] We ask for the cooperation of all aircraft operators to adhere to the following described noise abatement procedures whenever possible.
