Published by the airport sponsor; voluntary unless ATC assigns it. If ATC assigns this route to you in Class B, C or D airspace, that assignment is an ATC instruction and compliance is required (14 CFR 91.123) — and “unable” remains available to the pilot in command.
North pattern at night or when the tower is closed: crosswind before Rock Creek Parkway (30R) or US 36 (12L), downwind over US 36, base before Westminster Blvd (30R) or Autrey Park (12L).
The route
- Nighttime, when ATC is closed, or as directed by ATC for the north pattern: operate from 12L/30R on a standard 1 mile pattern
- Turn crosswind prior to Rock Creek Parkway (30R) or US 36 (12L)
- Fly downwind over US 36
- Turn base prior to Westminster Blvd (30R) or Autrey Park (12L)
- If more than four aircraft are in the pattern, consider an alternate time or airport; do not extend the pattern beyond the limits shown
- Use 30R/12L for nighttime pattern operations to reduce overflying residential neighborhoods
