KRED Red Lodge — local VFR procedures
Not for navigation. These are locally published VFR routes, reproduced with sources; verify against the official documents linked from each procedure before flight.
The field has crosswind grass strips; operations to and from them should be limited, and standard traffic patterns flown at pattern altitude, to minimise impact on the city downtown and the residential areas immediately east of the airport.
VFR arrivals
South flow — 16
- Runway 16 Arrival — Downwind at pattern altitude over the bluff east of downtown, then a high-angle final when safe and practical.
VFR departures
North flow — 34
- Runway 34 Departure & Arrival — Departing, manoeuvre on the upwind west of the residential area north of the field; arriving, fly the downwind west of the residential area.
These routes are advisory as published — none of them is a regulation. Assigned by ATC in Class B, C or D airspace, a route becomes an ATC instruction under 14 CFR 91.123; “unable” remains available to the pilot in command. Each procedure page shows its own authority level and links its primary sources.
