- Runway 16: intercept the final approach course at or beyond the ILS outer marker (5 DME)
- Runway 34: intercept the final approach course over Long Island Sound, and avoid overflying shoreline communities inbound
- Runways 11 and 29: avoid making turns to a short final when possible
