vfr departure Airport sponsor published verified 2026-08-28 (42 d ago)
Published by the airport sponsor; voluntary unless ATC assigns it. If ATC assigns this route to you in Class B, C or D airspace, that assignment is an ATC instruction and compliance is required (14 CFR 91.123) — and “unable” remains available to the pilot in command.
A climbing 10° left offset as soon as feasible, held to 1,200 ft MSL — the offset is the whole point, and the airport asks for it by name.
The route
- Use Vy (best rate of climb); as soon as feasible make a climbing 10 degree left turn until reaching 1,200 ft MSL before proceeding on course
- When able, offset 10° to the south after departure on 31 — by offsetting departures on 31 by 10° to the south, the airport significantly reduces noise impacts on its neighbors
- Arrival: left traffic pattern; a noise sensitive community is located off the departure end of runway 31
- Maintain 1,200 ft MSL or higher as long as practical
Where it actually is
North up. The sponsor names these landmarks and publishes no coordinate for any of them — everything positioned here is derived, and each coordinate's provenance is listed with its point below. Dashed markers are depicted: this site's reading of the written route, not published fixes.
- 1 Departure end of RWY 31 RWY 13 threshold (northwest end) Northwest end of the crossing 13/31, and the departure end for runway 31 — the noise sensitive community is off this end. satellite Apple Maps coordinate: FAA airport record (NASR), surveyed runway threshold

Put it in the GPS
Route points become a route; reference points ship as waypoints only — a GPS that sequences you to a do-not-overfly marker has it backwards.

When it applies
- Departing 31 Published under the "RUNWAY 31" sub-heading, with a dedicated pattern-work sheet footed "Runway 31 Voluntary Noise Abatement Procedures"
Source text, verbatim
Noise Abatement Procedures: Aircraft Weighing 12,500 Pounds or Less RUNWAY 31 Departure: Use Vy (best rate of climb). As soon as feasible, a climbing 10 degree left turn until reaching 1200 ft. MSL before proceeding on course. Arrival:* Left traffic pattern. Noise sensitive community located off departure end of Rwy 31 * Maintain 1200 ft. MSL or higher as long as practical. [Runway 31 pattern-work sheet:] WHEN ABLE, OFFSET 10 DEGREES TO THE SOUTH AFTER DEPARTURE ON 31. By offsetting departures on 31 by 10 degrees to the South, we significantly reduce the noise impacts on our neighbors.
