Traffic pattern altitude 1,200 ft for aircraft 12,500 lbs and less, 1,700 ft for heavier. The published per-runway procedures below are scoped by the airport to aircraft of 12,500 lbs or less. A noise sensitive community lies off the departure end of runway 31.

VFR departures

Runway 31

  • Runway 31 Departure — A climbing 10° left offset as soon as feasible, held to 1,200 ft MSL — the offset is the whole point, and the airport asks for it by name.

Runway 23

  • Runway 23 Departure — Runway heading to 1,200 ft MSL; in the pattern, crosswind over Convent Station between Park and Madison, overflying Novartis before final.

Runway 5

  • Runway 5 Departure — Vy on runway heading to 1,200 ft MSL; in the pattern, crosswind over Route 10 and overfly Morris County Golf Club before base.

Runway 13

  • Runway 13 Departure — Vy on runway heading to 1,200 ft MSL; arrivals are a 3-mile straight-in, and the airport says 13 should be used only for operational necessity.

Other local procedures

Runway 13 / 31

  • Touch-and-Go Restrictions — The airport prohibits touch-and-go on runway 31 outright; the FAA Chart Supplement instead states a crosswind-conditioned rule on 13/31. The two do not agree.

These routes are advisory as published — none of them is a regulation. Assigned by ATC in Class B, C or D airspace, a route becomes an ATC instruction under 14 CFR 91.123; “unable” remains available to the pilot in command. Each procedure page shows its own authority level and links its primary sources.
