Published by the airport sponsor; voluntary unless ATC assigns it. If ATC assigns this route to you in Class B, C or D airspace, that assignment is an ATC instruction and compliance is required (14 CFR 91.123) — and “unable” remains available to the pilot in command.
Voluntary: 1500' AGL minimum over the islands, avoid homes, quiet flying in sensitive areas, no operations 2200-0700 local.
The route
- A minimum cruise altitude of 1500' AGL is requested when flying over the islands; avoid flying over homes
- In noise sensitive areas, reduce propeller RPM and increase altitude and distance when it is safe to do so
- Please avoid operations between 2200 and 0700 local time

- Runway 16 or 34 — all operations Airport-wide voluntary program; not flow-dependent

It is requested that all pilots make every effort to minimize aircraft noise. The recommendations included in this brochure are for your information. Pilots are asked to adhere to these procedures out of respect for people on the ground and other pilots. For reasons of safety, it should be understood that FAA rules, weather and safety considerations may at times require deviation from these suggested procedures. San Juan County Cruise Altitude: A minimum cruise altitude of 1500' AGL is requested when flying over the islands. Avoid flying over homes. Quiet Flying in Noise Sensitive Areas: Please be respectful when flying in noise sensitive areas, avoid flying over homes and villages, reduce propeller rpm and increase altitude and distance when it is safe to do so. We Need Our Sleep: Please avoid operations between 2200 and 0700 local time.
