Published by the airport sponsor; voluntary unless ATC assigns it. If ATC assigns this route to you in Class B, C or D airspace, that assignment is an ATC instruction and compliance is required (14 CFR 91.123) — and “unable” remains available to the pilot in command.
Enter the Class C via Highway 101 at or above 1,500 ft until 4 miles for the 15s; base legs offshore for 25 and 07.
The route
- Runway 15L: enter the Class C airspace via the Highway 101 freeway, remaining at or above 1,500 ft until 4 miles from the airport — this is a left base leg entry to the pattern
- Runway 15R: enter via the Highway 101 freeway or north of El Encanto Heights, at or above 1,500 ft until 4 miles — a right base leg entry
- To minimize impact on noise sensitive areas, fly directly over Highway 101 unless otherwise instructed by ATC
- Runway 25: turn left base leg offshore, remaining within two miles of the airport
- Runway 07: turn right base leg offshore, between Ellwood and Isla Vista

VFR QUIET FLIGHT PROCEDURES/FIXED WING — ARRIVALS 15L — Enter the Class C Airspace via Hwy. 101 Freeway. Remain at or above 1500 feet until 4 miles from Airport. (This will be a left base leg entry to traffic pattern.) 15R — Enter the Class C Airspace via Hwy. 101 Freeway or North of El Encanto Heights. NOTE: To minimize the impact on noise sensitive areas, pilots are requested to use extra vigilance by flying directly over Hwy 101 Freeway unless otherwise instructed by ATC. 25 — Turn left base leg offshore.
