vfr arrival Airport sponsor published verified 2026-08-28 (42 d ago)
Published by the airport sponsor; voluntary unless ATC assigns it. If ATC assigns this route to you in Class B, C or D airspace, that assignment is an ATC instruction and compliance is required (14 CFR 91.123) — and “unable” remains available to the pilot in command.
Arrive on or above the VASI, hold pattern altitude on downwind, avoid the school; jets minimize reverse thrust and APU use 2200-0700.
The route
- Use the VASI and remain at or above glide slope; maintain pattern altitude on downwind
- Avoid power changes on the base and final legs
- Avoid noise sensitive area overflights, and avoid school overflight
- Jet operators: use NBAA or manufacturer recommended quiet flying techniques; minimum reverse thrust between 2200 and 0700 consistent with safety; consider prolonged APU use between 2200 and 0700; Stage 1 aircraft should not depart between 2200 and 0700
- Helicopters: avoid noise sensitive area overflight; local training operations shall be conducted in designated areas only
When it applies
- Arriving 11 or 29 or 7 or 25 — all runways The ARRIVALS and JET AIRCRAFT OPERATORS sections name no runway
