VFR arrivals
All runways — 11 / 29 / 7 / 25
- Arrivals & Jet Operations — Arrive on or above the VASI, hold pattern altitude on downwind, avoid the school; jets minimize reverse thrust and APU use 2200-0700.
VFR departures
Runway 29
- Runway 29 Departures — Four published exits: right crosswind at Highway 101, right downwind past Tank Farm Road, left crosswind before South Higuera, or a delayed left past Laguna Lake.
Runway 11
- Runway 11 Departures — Heading 110° with the turn delayed past the school and the noise sensitive area; downwind departures climb to pattern altitude first.
Other local procedures
Runway 11 / 29
- Touch-and-Go Procedures — Off 29, crosswind over Tank Farm Road; off 11, runway heading to pattern altitude and never over the school; alternate runways to avoid repetitive overflight.
These routes are advisory as published — none of them is a regulation. Assigned by ATC in Class B, C or D airspace, a route becomes an ATC instruction under 14 CFR 91.123; “unable” remains available to the pilot in command. Each procedure page shows its own authority level and links its primary sources.
