Published by the airport sponsor; voluntary unless ATC assigns it. If ATC assigns this route to you in Class B, C or D airspace, that assignment is an ATC instruction and compliance is required (14 CFR 91.123) — and “unable” remains available to the pilot in command.
Off the 16s: runway heading over the flood control basin before any turn. Off the 34s: runway heading to 1,800' MSL before any turn.
The route
- Runways 16L and 16R: after takeoff, fly runway heading until reaching the flood control basin, then a turn to the assigned course can be initiated
- Runways 34L and 34R: after takeoff, fly runway heading until reaching 1,800' MSL, then a turn to the assigned course can be initiated
- Non-standard departures or turns upon ATC approval only
When it applies
- Departing 16L or 16R — south flow "Runway 16L and 16R: After take off, fly runway heading until reaching the flood control basin"
- Departing 34L or 34R — north flow "Runway 34L and 34R: After take off, fly runway heading until reaching 1800' MSL"
