KFFZ Falcon Fld — local VFR procedures

Pattern altitudes: 2,900' MSL large turbine, 2,400' MSL small piston, 1,900' MSL helicopter. Left traffic runways 4L and 22L, right traffic runways 4R and 22R — but when the tower is closed and Class G is in effect, use right traffic for 22L and left traffic for 4R. The City notes FAA rules prohibit it from imposing flight restrictions.

- Helicopter Routes & Procedures — Four named routes — Yankee Two, Gecko Two, Snake Two and Cactus Two — plus stay east of the Roosevelt Irrigation Canal and hold 1,900 ft MSL within two miles.
Other local procedures
Northeast flow — 4L / 4R
- Calm-Wind Preferred Runways — 4L and 4R are preferred in calm wind because they route traffic over the Longbow golf course, industrial areas and the Salt River rather than housing.
All runways — 4L / 4R / 22L / 22R
- Fixed-Wing Departure & Arrival Technique — Vy to pattern altitude, downwind ¾ to 1 mile out, 4° PAPI on landing, and smooth power changes.

- Quiet Hours — Avoid repetitive operations 2200-0530 Arizona time. The Chart Supplement states this more strictly, as touch-and-go being unavailable 0500-1230Z.
These routes are advisory as published — none of them is a regulation. Assigned by ATC in Class B, C or D airspace, a route becomes an ATC instruction under 14 CFR 91.123; “unable” remains available to the pilot in command.
