vfr departure Airport sponsor published verified 2026-08-28 (42 d ago)
Published by the airport sponsor; voluntary unless ATC assigns it. If ATC assigns this route to you in Class B, C or D airspace, that assignment is an ATC instruction and compliance is required (14 CFR 91.123) — and “unable” remains available to the pilot in command.
A published profile off each end: to the Long Island Expressway off 01, Sunrise Highway off 19, a right 190° off 14 and a right 010° up Route 110 off 32.
The route
- Runway 01: Vy on runway heading to 1,000 ft MSL, then reduce power for climb and fly to the Long Island Expressway before proceeding on course
- Runway 19: Vy on runway heading to 1,000 ft MSL, then reduce power for climb and fly to Sunrise Highway before proceeding on course
- Runway 14: Vy on runway heading to 800 ft MSL then turn right heading 190°; on reaching 1,000 ft MSL reduce power and parallel runway 19 until Sunrise Highway before proceeding on course
- Runway 32: Vy on runway heading to 800 ft MSL then turn right heading 010°; on reaching 1,000 ft MSL reduce power and overfly Route 110 until the Long Island Expressway before proceeding on course
Where it actually is
North up. The sponsor names these landmarks and publishes no coordinate for any of them — everything positioned here is derived, and each coordinate's provenance is listed with its point below. Dashed markers are depicted: this site's reading of the written route, not published fixes.
- RWY 01: Vy on runway heading to 1,000 MSL RWY 1 threshold (south end) South end of the preferential runway 01/19. Heading 013 magnetic / 359 true for 01. satellite Apple Maps coordinate: FAA airport record (NASR), surveyed runway threshold
- RWY 01: then fly to the Long Island Expressway before proceeding on course Long Island Expressway at the Microwave Tower The point on I-495 nearest the Microwave Tower, 3.4 NM north-northwest of the field. The MICROWAVE helicopter arrival enters the area here. A line, not a point; this pin is the nearest part of it. satellite Apple Maps street view coordinate: OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL) (nearest point on I-495 to the tower)
- RWY 19: Vy on runway heading to 1,000 MSL RWY 19 threshold (north end) North end of 01/19. Heading 193 magnetic / 179 true for 19. satellite Apple Maps coordinate: FAA airport record (NASR), surveyed runway threshold
- RWY 19 and RWY 14: then fly to Sunrise Highway Sunrise Highway NY 27, the big east-west divided highway 2.5 NM south of the field, on the extended runway 19 centreline. Light aircraft departing 19 fly to it before turning on course. satellite Apple Maps street view coordinate: OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL) (nearest point on NY 27 to the extended RWY 19 centreline)
- RWY 14: Vy to 800 MSL, right to 190, then parallel RWY 19 RWY 14 threshold (northwest end) Northwest end of the crossing 14/32. Heading 146 magnetic / 132 true for 14. satellite Apple Maps coordinate: FAA airport record (NASR), surveyed runway threshold
- RWY 32: Vy to 800 MSL, right to 010 RWY 32 threshold (southeast end) Southeast end of 14/32. Heading 326 magnetic / 312 true for 32. satellite Apple Maps coordinate: FAA airport record (NASR), surveyed runway threshold
- RWY 32: overfly Route 110 until the Long Island Expressway Route 110 abeam the field Broadhollow Road, the main north-south arterial up the west side of the airport. A LINE, not a point: three procedures follow it. This pin is where it passes abeam the field. satellite Apple Maps street view coordinate: OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL) (nearest point on NY 110 to the airport reference point)
This entry describes several named routes, so the landmarks are plotted and no single track is drawn. Bearings are magnetic, converted from true at each leg's midpoint through the WMM 2025 model this site ships (12.7°W here). Shoreline, water, highways and runways © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL). DEPARTURES PROCEDURES: Runway 01: Use Vy (best rate of climb) and fly runway heading to 1,000 ft. MSL. Reduce power setting for climb and fly to the Long Island Expressway before proceeding on course. Runway 14: Use Vy (best rate of climb) and fly runway heading to 800 ft. MSL then turn right heading 190°. Upon reaching 1,000 ft. MSL, reduce power setting for climb and parallel Runway 19 until reaching, Sunrise Highway before proceeding on course. Runway 19: Use Vy (best rate of climb) and fly runway heading to 1,000 ft. MSL. Reduce power setting for climb and fly to Sunrise Highway before proceeding on course. Runway 32: Use Vy (best rate of climb) and fly runway heading to 800 ft. MSL, then turn right heading 010°. Upon reaching 1,000 ft.
