Published by the airport sponsor; voluntary unless ATC assigns it. If ATC assigns this route to you in Class B, C or D airspace, that assignment is an ATC instruction and compliance is required (14 CFR 91.123) — and “unable” remains available to the pilot in command.
Request a left 270 to the north rather than a right 90; no straight-out departures; use full length so you can turn before the homes by the golf course.
The route
- Request a left 270° turn to the north instead of a right 90° turn to the north on departure

- Preferred runway for touch-and-go and stop-and-go activities

Runway 28L • Request a left 270' turn to the North instead of a right 90° turn to the North on departure (see chart) • No straight-out departures • Preferred runway for Touch & Go and Stop & Go activities • Depart from Taxiway A1 or Z1 blast fence • Right crosswind departure restricted below 1500' MSL East of Three Crosses landmark [Operational Procedures for All Jet Aircraft — Noise Friendly Departure Runway 28L:] Jets, large twin engine and turbo-prop aircraft should utilize the full 5,694 feet of the runway (RWY). Request a 'Left 270 departure' and avoid flying over the residential areas adjacent to the Golf Course. Air Traffic Control will direct all IFR departures to "maintain RWY heading until reaching 400 ft. MSL". By using the full length of the RWY, aircraft are able to reach this altitude and turn prior to the residential areas adjacent to the Golf Course, safety permitting.
