KHWD Hayward Exec — local VFR procedures

Traffic pattern altitude 600' AGL except runway 10L-28R, which is 800' AGL. Noise abatement information is broadcast on 122.85 MHz. Runway 10L/28R is closed 2100-0700 local, when the tower is closed. Landmarks used by the published procedures: the Golf Course, the Three Crosses, Southland Mall, Chabot College, Spot Charlie.
VFR departures
West flow — 28L
- Runway 28L Departure — Request a left 270 to the north rather than a right 90; no straight-out departures; use full length so you can turn before the homes by the golf course.
- Runway 28R Departure — No straight-out departures; turn right before the golf course. Runway closed 2100-0700 local.
East flow — 10R
- Runway 10R Departure — Maintain runway heading until above Southland Mall — about half a mile past the airport boundary — then turn on course.

Runway 10R / 28L
- Touch-and-Go Pattern — Use 10R-28L; crosswind over the golf course or industrial park, downwind extended to Chabot College to stay off the mobile home parks and Southgate.
All operations — 10L / 10R / 28L / 28R
- Quiet Flying Techniques — Requested: avoid residential overflight, turn at or before the golf course departing west, climb at best rate, reduce power and prop RPM as soon as practical.
- Aircraft Noise Ordinance — Per-runway SENEL limits at four noise monitors, lower at night, enforced as an infraction with escalating civil penalties and possible exclusion from the airport.
