noise abatement Regulatory / ordinance — MANDATORY verified 2026-08-28 (42 d ago)
Compliance is required by law — federal regulation or a local ordinance with enforcement authority.
Ordinance SENEL caps set separately for each runway and each time band — 26R is the tightest at 92 departing / 88 arriving — with surcharges and misdemeanor liability.
The route
- Runway 30 and runway 12, 0700-2200: 102.5 departure / 101.5 arrival; 2200-2300 and 0600-0700: 90/90; 2300-0600: 79/79
- Runway 26R (ordinance: 25R), 0700-2200: 92 departure / 88 arrival — the most restrictive at the field
- Runway 26L (ordinance: 25L), 0700-2200: 95 departure / 93 arrival
- Runway 8R (ordinance: 7R), 0700-2200: 95 departure / 92 arrival
- Runway 8L (ordinance: 7L), 0700-2200: 88 departure / 92 arrival
- Except in an emergency or on air traffic direction, all operations between 2200 and 0700 are limited to runways 30 and 12
- Exceeding a SENEL limit without a reasonable basis for believing the aircraft would comply is a misdemeanor; surcharges apply for repeat violations
When it applies
- Runway 30 or 12 — night operations "all aircraft Operations between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. are limited to runways 30 and 12"
- Runway 26R or 26L or 8R or 8L The ordinance table sets a distinct limit per runway, using the pre-renumbering designators 25R/25L/7R/7L for these same runways; the City's 2025 lesson plan restates them as 26R/26L/8R/8L
