Published by the airport sponsor; voluntary unless ATC assigns it. If ATC assigns this route to you in Class B, C or D airspace, that assignment is an ATC instruction and compliance is required (14 CFR 91.123) — and “unable” remains available to the pilot in command.

Centerline at best rate, reduce to climb power before I-15; westbound crosses the Seawolf Corridor at 3,200-6,800 ft after the shoreline.

The route

  1. East, northeast or southeast departures: climb on runway centerline using best rate and reduce to climb power before reaching I-15; remain clear of Class B airspace and the Gillespie Field traffic area
  2. West or northwest departures: climb on centerline at best rate, reduce to climb power and turn left or right crosswind as directed before reaching I-15
  3. Westbound: climb to overfly the Seawolf Corridor Class B segment at 3,200' to 6,800' after passing the shoreline and turning north
  4. Use caution for arrivals to runways 10L and 10R from Mt. Soledad
