KSUN Friedman Meml — local VFR procedures

The entire area around the airport is residential and noise sensitive. Tower hours 0700-2300 local; ARFF generally available in the same window, and services such as snow removal are limited or unavailable 2300-0700. The FMAA states the FAA prohibits it from pursuing punitive action against a pilot who does not follow the voluntary procedures.

These routes are advisory as published — none of them is a regulation. Assigned by ATC in Class B, C or D airspace, a route becomes an ATC instruction under 14 CFR 91.123; “unable” remains available to the pilot in command.
