VFR arrivals

  • Arrivals & Preferred Traffic Pattern — Fly the full pattern — early turns over the residential parks west of the field cause most of the complaints. 45° downwind entry, midfield crossing at 2,200 ft.

VFR departures

North flow — 35

  • Runway 35 Departure — Avoid straight-out: turn left to 270° for NEWBERG2 or right to 060° for GLARA2; if straight-out is unavoidable, 340° direct I-5.

South flow — 17

  • Runway 17 Departure — Avoid turns that overfly the City of Aurora — turn left or right three miles from the runway end.
