Pattern altitudes: north pattern 1,500' AGL propeller / 2,000' AGL turbine; north closed pattern within one mile of runway 28R/L is 1,000' AGL, propeller only. The District states it has "no legal authority to control when airlines or aircraft choose to fly" and cannot implement curfews.

West flow — 28L / 28R
- VFR Procedures — Operations to the West — Off 28L/R, delay turns until 900 ft and past Highway One, and use the over-water route across Monterey Bay when possible.

Runway 28L / 28R
- Preferential Runways — Land on 28L/R, depart on 10R/L — opposed operations, chosen to keep both flows away from the noise-sensitive areas.
Runway 10R / 10L
- Preferential Runways — Land on 28L/R, depart on 10R/L — opposed operations, chosen to keep both flows away from the noise-sensitive areas.
All operations — 10L / 10R / 28L / 28R
- Touch-and-Go Limits & Voluntary Curfew — Four touch-and-goes per pilot per two hours in daytime windows; voluntary non-operation midnight to 0500 with a PPR requested for turbine twins.
These routes are advisory as published — none of them is a regulation. Assigned by ATC in Class B, C or D airspace, a route becomes an ATC instruction under 14 CFR 91.123; “unable” remains available to the pilot in command.
